I started college in UCD this week with Orientation Week. The place is huge. It takes about 7 mins to walk from the bus stop to the Health Sciences block which is also huge as well. There are 40 of us in the class altogether. On Thursday, the first years had a welcome ceremony with the President of UCD where we received our UCD scarfs(wearing them proudly and disliking Trinity with a "bleak afflatus"(see 'Ecclesiastes' by Derek Mahon, and HEY! I'm not even a English student!))
Today was all about the academic side of our programme, getting details of Labs and Modules, meeting the First Year coordinator etc etc. Still trying to get to know everybody's name but I'll get there eventually! The beauty of it is we only have one 9am start and finish early on Fridays!
The place and people are great, much better than TCD....if only the weather could follow suit!!!!

Leaving Cert Results
We get our Leaving Cert results in just under 13 days and for the most part i haven't thought about it. However, every so often the thing slips into my mind with a feeling of dread and nervousness. LETS GET IT OVER AND DONE WITH!! the strangest part of it was a dream i had of starting sixth year. i remember vaguely getting all worked up and stressing out over doing the year and it was only at the end realising that it must be a dream because i've finished sixth year! It was horrible to be trapped in that nightmare. Anywho back to Leaving Cert and results, the results we get basically dictates what we're gonna end up doing for the rest of our lives, even though everybody says it doesnt. You dont get the results you wanted=you dont get into the college course you want=you dont get the career you want.(NOW THERE'S LOGIC FOR YOU!) The waiting is killing me! Heck i wanted to know my result the minute after i finished the exam! I've always hated the waiting for exam results! Roll on August 13th!
This whole deep meaningful blog stuff.....
Right i've read a good few blogs and it seems there are two categories:
1) the blogs where ppl express themselves and all going on in their lives, pouring out their inner feelings and how they view the world.
2) On the other hand, there are those blogs where the bloggers post info about celebrities or new technology like a news blog.
I've been thinking and i dont know which type of blog mine would be if it had to be categorized.
I'm not one to follow the ups and downs of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton and blog the minute they buy an apple at their local supermarket. Also, i'm not the type to pour out my inner feelings on a computer so people can come along and read them and think "what kind of freak is this person??"
I'm trying this facebook thing
So far it's okay but i spend most of the time feeding my Pokey pup on it: 'Intel'
And the weather makes it more difficult to blog....
